About Me
Hi there,

my name is Markus Moenig and I have lived in Thailand for over 13 years now. The first 7 years in Koh Samui (I guess most who visit Thailand want to first go to a beach place). After 7 years it was time for a change and we choose Chiang Mai as the next destination. Chiang Mai is a beautiful place, but it can also be crowded and congested.

Over time we spend more and more time in Phrae, the province of my wife and I fell in love with it and we moved here 6 years ago now. Phrae is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Chiang Mai. If you want to experience the original Thailand, outside of the tourist centers, Phrae is the place for you.

My intent with this Website is to make more information about Phrae accessible to English speaking Tourists or Expats. There is not too much English information available and it is often difficult to find out what is going on right now.
​
I love parrots, especially macaw, motor bike trips, a good beer and I am enjoying my life here.
