Nomad - King of Beers

Nomad is a small and cosy bar near the city center of Phrae. The surprise is not that we have a bar in Phrae, the surprise is that it has a large selection of international draft!, bottled and canned beer.

I lived for 7 years in Koh Samui, a tourist hot spot, but never found a bar where I could have fresh wheat beer (Weizen) from Passau in Germany (fresh from the barrel) or a beer from the USA or the Czech Republic.

Lucky for us we have this place in Phrae (of all places). It is very popular with the local Thai people and tourists. But it is never too full not to be able to get a seat somewhere. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is always chilled, also due to the good selection of music being played.

Food wise you can get some bar food like French fries or chicken wings. The staff is however also happy (if it is not too busy) to order some food for you from the associated (and also great) e-san Thai restaurant down the road.

Needless to say that you can find me there quite often, especially on Wednesdays and Saturdays when there is a very popular walking street just outside.
